Devin, and others like him, are why we started to raise money for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Intl)
Devin Sterling Edward (pictured above with fellow Type 1 Diabetic and singing sensation Crystal Bowersox) was diagnosed
with Type 1 Diabetes when he was just 8 years old. The last eight years have been very tough for him.
Devin has had to prick his finger over 15,000 times and had almost that many shots of insulin.
The finger picks and need for insulin will continue day in day out (no breaks, no Holidays, no vacations)
until the cure is found.
Just Some of the serious complications of Type 1 Diabetes are: seizures, loss of consciousness, coma, brain damage,
kidney damage, heart attack, loss of limbs, blindness and death. For a more detailed list see Devin's Diabetes Blog.
JDRF is working hard to find the cure for Type 1 Diabetes.
Their research has benefited treatment for both Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes.
There is no current cure for Type 1 but it is within reach!
Wouldn't you like to be a part of making that cure happen?
JDRF is a 501c3 charity so donations are tax deductible.
The Cure-iers are a walk team dedicated to raising money for the cure.
We keep absolutely nothing of the money we raise. It all goes to JDRF!
Here are just some of the suggestions on how you can help:
1. Donate below
2. Give cash (or checks made out to JDRF) to one of The Cure-iers team members pictured on this website.
3. Donate items or gift certificates for goods or services for our raffles and auctions.
4. Get the word out to everyone you know that they can help too, especially if you are tied to media!
5. Join The Cure-iers Walk team.
6. Shop at Treasured Antiques Gallery
3 School Street (corner of State Highway 11)
De Kalb Junction, NY 13630
( A percentage of every sale goes to JDRF).
